On the second floor, there are four bedrooms (not including the hobby room) and a loft.  The two guest rooms are fairly similar in size.  The difference between the two guestrooms is that the room on the south end of the house has an attached sitting area and balcony.  This room is extremely versatile, and can be used as a second master for a live-in au-pair, housekeeper, long-term guests, or overnight visitors with children.  The loft offers an extended living space for the guest room next door, or can simply be a common area for the family’s enjoyment.  The bar area also offers convenient access to beverages for the upstairs guests and family. 

As many parents know, kids fight over the smallest things, so we designed two identical bedrooms toward the front of the home for our two kids.  Both rooms have high ceilings, expansive windows, private walkway access to the balcony and each others’ rooms.  Since the master suite is downstairs, the kids would be able to find each other easily through the private walkway should they wake up from a nightmare and fears venturing downstairs alone.  The walkway also offers interesting viewpoints from both the first and second floor.
