The formal dining room was designed to seat 16 people, to account for all current and future family members.    The rope lighting allows the room’s ambience to be adjusted for whatever the occasion calls for.  The same goes for the living room opposite of the dining room.  The point of the two front rooms is to entertain.  The butler’s pantry allowed dining guests to gain easy access to ice and beverages without adding to kitchen traffic.  It also has a second dishwasher to cut down on clean-up time after entertaining large parties.
